Krug & Egg

Each year, one unexpected ingredient is selected for Krug Ambassade Chefs to create dishes to pair with the Krug Grand Cuvée. In 2016, Krug put the spotlight on eggs, and published a book titled Poached, Scrambled or Fried, which contained egg recipes from Krug Ambassades around the globe, including those of Singapore—Jaan, Stellar and Tippling Club. To complement the launch and annual book release, we brought together Singapore’s Krug Ambassades for a six-hand dinner experience where they prepared and served their egg-inspired dishes. Each guest was also given a copy of the book signed by the Ambassades and a 37.5cl Grand Cuvée that they could enjoy while reading. The event generated more than the expected outreach and PR values.

 

Dom Pérignon un Voyage des Plénitudes

The renowned house of Dom Pérignon delighted the champagne world by introducing its Plénitude concept—relaunched vintages that have developed new taste profiles after a second and third phase of maturity. To celebrate the launch of the luxurious P2 1998, we chauffeured media and VIP guests to a secret venue where they could discover the evolution of wine through three different stages. Eight events in three days also reached over 300 guests and resulted in significant PR and media outreach values. Event day sales in 2018 posted 43 percent more than the previous year’s annual brand event.

 

Casks of Distinction 2018

For a few years now, we have been creating multidisciplinary experiences for Diageo’s Casks of Distinction, a unique programme that gives progressive spirits enthusiasts the opportunity to own a special single malt Scotch whisky by the cask. In 2018, we crafted a highly tailored, multi-step immersive journey into the world of a single cask. First, we unveiled the year’s selection, which included rare and old whiskies, and bottles from now-closed distilleries, and their unique origin stories. We then introduced our guests to master craftsmen and coopers, whose knowledge of distillation traditions have been passed down from generation to generation. Finally, we offered guests a private one-on-one consultation with Diageo’s Master of Malts, Dr Craig Wilson, who put together a customised tasting of cask liquids based on each guest’s flavor profile.

From insider insight, to production methods, to an exploration of a private vault of precious liquids, to the opportunity to speak to a whisky expert, this experience ignited consumers’ passions in a way that money can’t buy anywhere else.

 

Casks of Distinction 2017

Few things will thrill a whisky connoisseur and collector as much as laying claim to an entire cask. This is what Diageo Prestige’s Casks of Distinction programme is all about. For the inaugural launch we created a five-day dive into the programme, targeting a 360° audience of experts, amateurs, media and trade. We also had a total of 17 activations that covered private suite walkthroughs, tastings, dinners, trainings and media interviews.

 

Mortlach 47, The Singing Stills

To launch Diageo’s ultra-premium single malt scotch whisky brand, Mortlach 47, we invited 47 VIPs around the world to a special event at 1880 Singapore where we revealed the intriguing secrets behind this mysterious brand: that its founder, Alexander Cowie, was a doctor-turned-distiller; that the precision behind its 2.81 distillation process remains unchanged to this day; and that the distilling process is accompanied by a harmonious hum (dubbed the Singing Stills) produced by the copper stills where the whisky is kept. At the launch, we also used a combination of sensory elements to heighten Mortlach 47’s story: visuals and sounds to ‘transport’ guests to Speyside, a region in the Scottish Highlands in Scotland that’s known for producing the best whisky; and a robust all-meat menu to pair with the spirit’s bold flavours. Finally, guests sampled the oldest bottled Mortlach 47 in a cosy tasting room, while sounds of the Singing Stills filled the air.

Not all experiences have to be large scale shindigs. As part of the Diageo Prestige CRM Programme, we designed personalised birthday kits, for their Private Clients, filled with everything they might need for a little whisky appreciation session: a small bottle of a selected single malt, a pair of nosing glasses, whisky stones, a flask and a few snacks to pair with the spirit.
